PRACTICE HISTORY

The practice was originally part of a four-man partnership until Dr Abid Shahbazi made the decision to become a single-handed practitioner in 1990. Dr Aiden O'Connor joined him in April 1998.

Since the practice began we have employed a further receptionist and a practice nurse due to the size of the patient list. The premises we currently occupy were previously the survey offices belonging to the NCB. In 1992 they were converted for use by the surgery and underwent extensive renovation and enlargement in 1998. An opening ceremony was performed by the mayor after these alterations.

We now have modern and comfortable premises to help patients feel at ease when they visit us. There is suitable access for the disabled, and we also have a children's play area.

The practice also opened a branch surgery in Lowton in 1994 for the benefit of patients in this area.

We are a friendly practice who put the patient first every time.
